Our Instructors
The Team at E4Defense specializes in defensive tactics, live fire weapon proficiency, reality based firearms training as well as situational observation/avoidance tactics. We provide superior self-defense and firearms training from the curious to the most advanced students. As a student, we will work at your current level, get you out of your comfort zone and help you prepare for unfavorable events. Our Instructors are Law Enforcement Certified Trainers who specialize in observational awareness, one on one confrontation, target acquisition and RBT Force on Force confrontation for the Law Enforcement and Civilian side of defense.
Heather Amendt - Lead Instructor
Heather was a Criminal Justice Major in college and has actively been involved in Law Enforcement. She holds multiple Firearm, RBT/Force on Force and Specialty Training Certifications and is an active member of ILEETA, IALEFI® and IAWP. Currently, she is an Adjunct Instructor at East Texas Police Academy, a Texas DPS Level III Firearms and Academic Instructor in DFW and owns her own company, E4Defense, LLC. Through her years of instructing and working with multiple Departments across the country she recognized the dire need for advanced firearms, DT and mental preparedness training for officers and civilians and formed E4Defense, LLC. In addition to Firearms, DT and mental preparedness training for Law Enforcement and Civilians, E4Defense provides Departments and Private Security Companies with training program consultations.

Ken Jones
Ken joined the U.S. Army Military Police Corps right after graduating high school in 1993. During his 11-year tour as an MP, he was assigned to a combat support unit as a machine gunner, driver, and team leader. He’s also performed duties as a unit armorer, D.A.R.E. Officer, Crime Prevention Officer, and a K9 Handler. Military overseas duty stations included Guantanamo Bay, Cuba, various locations in South Korea, and various locations in Iraq. After military service, Ken was recruited into the world of Private Security Contracting (PSC’s) where he worked as an Explosive Detection Dog Handler (EDDH) and as a Protective Security Specialist (PSS) for more than a decade. He served on Diplomatic Protection Details for the State Department and for Other Government Agencies (OGA’s) all across Iraq and Afghanistan.

Shawn Williams - Defensive Tactics
Sihing Shaun Williams has been studying and teaching martial arts for 30 years. His Jeet Kune Do experience brings the knowledge of the philosophy of martial art concepts founded by Bruce Lee and passed down through an authentic lineage of instruction and evolution: Bruce Lee > Guro Dan Inosanto > Sifu Francis Fong > and directly from Guro Bruce Jolly and Sifu John DiJulio. Includes JKD Concepts, Jun Fan Gung Fu Boxing, Wing Chun Kung Fu, Kali & Escrima (stick and blade defense), Muay Thai Kick Boxing, Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu, and more. He also earned 3rd degree black belts each in American Karate, Olympic style Tae Kwon Do, and Traditional Tae Kwon Do.
Detective Joshua White
Joshua has been Instructing for nine years. He is dedicated to paying forward the training he has received to his students whether it's firearms, self defense or communication skills.
